He completed a two-year general surgery internship and a four-year orthopedic residency at the University of Minnesota. During his time at the University of Minnesota, Dr. Kennedy also served as an assistant professor in the sports medicine section of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, before deciding to return to his hometown of Yakima.
Dr. Kennedy is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and holds a subspecialty certificate in sports medicine. He is a distinguished fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), underscoring his dedication and expertise in the field.
At MultiCare Orthopedics Northwest, Dr. Kennedy specializes in orthopedic sports medicine, focusing on the evaluation and treatment of athletic injuries, particularly conditions of the knee and shoulder. His surgical expertise includes arthroscopic surgery, as well as partial and total knee replacement surgeries for treating arthritic conditions. He is Team Physician for Central Washington University.
Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Kennedy is deeply involved in the local sports community. He has been providing medical coverage for Yakima United Soccer since 1993, demonstrating his commitment to supporting local athletes and promoting sports medicine.
